| FAQ on Dermal Fillers |
| |
| What are injectable fillers? |
| |
| Injectable filler is a gel like substance that is injected
into the skin to effectively reduce the appearance of
wrinkles, contour, create volume and revitalise the skin.
Injectable filler are made of hyaluronic acid, which is a
substance already present in your body. We do not use
permanent silicon based fillers. |
| |
| What is hyaluronic acid? |
| |
| Hyaluronic acid is important for the transfer of nutrients and
regulating water balance within the skin. As we age we lose
hyaluronic acid from the skin causing volume loss and wrinkles
begin to appear to the surface of the skin. |
| |
| How do dermal fillers Work? |
| |
| Dermal fillers will boost the skins supply of hyaluronic acid
to revitalise, hydrate and add volume creating a smoother
youthful appearance. |
| |
| Could I be allergic to injectable fillers? |
| |
| Allergies to injectable fillers are extremely rare as your
body already recognises hyaluronic acid. |
| |
| What can be treated with injectable fillers? |
| |
Filling in nasolabial folds “laughter lines”
Filling in-between the eyebrows “frown lines”
Enhancing the lips |
| |
| Can fillers be used with laser and skin peels? |
| |
| We advise you to wait 2 weeks after you laser or skin peel
before undergoing any dermal filler treatment to allow the
skin to heal. |
| |
| How is the treatment performed? |
| |
| A topical numbing cream is applied to the area being treated
20 minutes prior to your procedure. During the procedure you
will have the opportunity to look at yourself in the mirror
and see the results as they happen. You will have complete
control over the results. Post-treatment mineral make-up can
be applied if required. |
| |
| How soon will I see results? |
| |
| Immediately, you may experience a brief period of redness or
swelling after which the final result is evident. |
| |
| Will I get bumps when the filler is dissolving? |
| |
| No, injectable fillers will dissolve evenly and bumps do not
form. The injected area will go back to looking exactly the
same as prior to the injection. There will be no loose skin,
the lips will not develop extra lines, and the skin will not
look stretched. |
| |
| Do I have to wait until my previous
injection has completely disappeared before I get another
treatment? |
| |
| No |
